The Scuba Sports Club's Annual Memorial Day BBQ May 29, 2011

Join The Scuba Sports Club at Dike Point, located on Candlewood Lake in New Milford, CT for our annual kick off the dive season BBQ. Dike point provides easy access to Candlewood Lake for shore diving. This is a great opportunity to test out some new dive gear or to practice on your bouyancy control. There will be plenty of support offered from shore should you need to add or take off some weight. All divers must use a dive flag while diving from the shore at Candlewood Lake. There will be dive flags available if you do not have your own.

Bring your favorite food to barbeque (there will be grills going all afternoon long), a prepared dish, salad, or a dessert. We will start gathering there around 10:00 A.M. and stay unitl we can't eat anymore.

Location and Directions from I-684 at N.Y. Connecticut state line:
Dike Point, Candlewood Lake
Old Town Park Road
New Milford, CT

Take exit 9E to merge onto I-84 E toward Danbury/Newburgh

From I84 East, take exit 7 (left hand exit), Route 7/ Route 202, North 8.6 miles to second stop light, just past New Milford High School on left, golf course on right.

Turn Left at this light on to Larsen Road. Watch out for the large “speed bumps.”

Go 0.3 miles to end and turn Right on to Sullivan Road (no sign).

Go 0.1 mile, Turn Left on to Carlson Road.

Turn Left on to Old Town Park Road (no sign again).

Go 0.4 miles up the top of the hill, Turn left into Dikes Point Park. (If you go straight you will be in Girard´s Marina)
