The Scuba Sports Club's Shark Dive Weekend

Labor Day Weekend September 2-5 2011 - Rhode Island, Fisherman's State Park

Fishermen's State Park and Campground offers campers a 'seaside village' atmosphere where visitors will find neatly trimmed grass, tree lined paths, and activities for the whole family. Whether you are looking for a place to pitch a tent and enjoy a camp fire, or park your RV and play some basketball or tennis, Fishermen's can accommodate you. One of Fishermen's most attractive features is its close proximity to popular State Beach areas like Scarborough, Roger Wheeler, and Salty Brine. The Park is also just 1 mile from the Block Island Ferry Dock and 15 minutes from scenic Newport. Farmers Market - May - October, Sundays 9 am to 1 pm. Contact Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Division of Agriculture at 222-2781 for more information. "Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints."

Reserve your campsite now! This campsite is very popular. So far there is still tent camping available. I have begun with site 123.

Diving is planned with Snappa Charters

We will be enjoying Labor Day Weekend near Point Judith Rhode Island. We are planning early to get the best camping spots on a busy holiday weekend and then we are on diving Saturday morning with Snappa Charters. To get your spot on the boat a $100.00 deposit is required. Please contact Allan Rios to make arrangements for your reservations. Once a spot is reserved, it is non-refundable unless a replacement diver is found. This way we get a firm commitment right away. Depending on interest, we can reserve the boat for Sunday as well and do more diving and see more sharks.

Before booking this trip please read about Shark Cage Diving with Snappa Charters on their web site. Many of your questions can be answered there at http://www.snappacharters.com/dive.html, and directions to Snappa Charters can be found there as well.

On Sunday September 4th we will be diving Fort Wetherill State Park, which is only 20 miles away from our campsite. Scuba Diving at Fort Wetherill in Jamestown, Rhode Island is one of the most popular sites in the northeast with two coves that offer easy access from the shore.
